Welcome to The Fanning Lab Website!
This website is dedicated to informing everyone about the work that
goes on in our crazy lab. Be sure to visit often as we post events that
are going on as well as the research we are involved in and the
researchers who make up the lab.
Thanks for visiting and enjoy!

| About Dr. Fanning:
Dr.
Fanning received her Ph.D. in 1977 from the University of Cologne in
Cologne, Germany. She completed post-doctoral work with Rolf Knippers
and had Dr. Doerfler as her PhD advisor at the University of Konstanz

and the University of Munich, Germany before joining the faculty of
Vanderbilt University in 1995. She is currently Stevenson Professor of
Biological Sciences and a Professor of the Howard Hughes Medical
Institute.
The long term goal of her research is to elucidate the
molecular mechanisms that control DNA replication in mammalian
cells. Dr. Fanning has mentored many graduate and undergraduate
