Interspecific Competition in Tribolium
Twelve weeks ago, we set up competition experiments using two species of flour beetle, Tribolium castaneum (abbreviated CS) and T. confusum (CF). Now, we will look at the population growth of each species when grown alone and in mixed culture and analyze the effects of competition. Remember that morphologically, the two species look very similar except in body color; CF is reddish brown in color, CS is black in color.
