Drosophila PCR Gels

Click on the link for your bench to view your gel.  Lane 1 is the lane on the left.  If the pcr product is not visible in a lane, ignore that lane.  Look at a few other gels to get a better idea of the distribution of genotypes in the population.

Section 1 (Monday)
gel 1 - great gel.  Version with reference line
gel 2 - failed load, not run
gel 3 - some lanes empty, but OK.  Version with reference line may help with lining up bands
gel 4 - good gel, lane 1 a bit faint but visible.  Version with reference line

Section 2 (Tuesday PM)
gel 1 - all lanes except one are empty. Use the sample gel instead
gel 2 - gel OK. Version with reference line
gel 3 - this gel has a pretty big severe smile, but is pretty good otherwise. Version with reference line may be easier to interpret
gel 4 - no heterozygotes for interpretation. Use the sample gel instead

Section 3 (Wednesday)
gel 1 - all homozygotes. Use the sample gel instead
gel 2 - two good lanes. Version with reference line
gel 3 - bands are difficult to interpret. Use the sample gel instead
gel 4 - heterozygote bands in lane 6, but very close together. Version with reference line. Use the sample gel if you like

Section 4 (Thursday PM)
gel 1 - very faint bands. Looks like a possible heterozygote in lane 2. Use the sample gel instead
gel 2 - good gel, a little blurry. Version with line
gel 3 - a little blurry, looks like all homozygotes. Use the sample gel instead
gel 4 - good gel. Version with line

Section 5 (Friday)
gel 1 - there are two faint bands in lanes 1 and 4, but they aren't adequate for analysis.   Use the sample gel instead
gel 2 - this gel is usable, although you may want to look at the version with line to get oriented to the relative position of the bands
gel 4 - there is only one band, so this gel can't be interpreted.   Use the sample gel instead

Section 6 (Thursday AM)
gel 1 - a little blurry, but there are two heterozygotes and one homozygote. Version with line
gel 2 - very faint, but there are two heterozygotes and several homozygotes. Version with line
gel 4 - no good picture! Use the sample gel instead

Section 7 (Tuesday AM)
gel 1 - good gel, lane 2 a bit faint. Version with reference line
gel 2 - pretty gel, but no heterozygotes for interpretation. Use the sample gel instead
gel 3 - this gel has a smile, but is pretty good otherwise. The version with reference line may be easier to interpret
gel 4 - lane 1 is hard to interpret, but the rest is fine. Version with reference line

Section 8 (Monday night)
gel 2 - gel OK, but not enough lanes had sample to interpret.  Use the sample gel instead
gel 3 - this gel has a pretty big severe smile, but is pretty good otherwise.  The version with reference line may be easier to interpret
gel 4 - lane two has a third "ghost band" but otherwise the gel is good.  Version with reference line

Section 9 (Wednesday night)
gel 2 - gel OK, two homozygotes. Version with line. Use the sample gel instead
gel 3 - good gel, all homozygotes. Use the sample gel instead
gel 4 - ethidium bromide was not well mixed in this gel. Bands are unclear. Use the sample gel instead
