Trees and woody plants of northeastern North America

These lists are intended to include common species of eastern Canada and the northeastern United States east of the prairies, and north of Maryland and the Ohio River.  They are currently provisional lists (see below).

Species were included in these lists on the basis of their inclusion in http://ontariotrees.com/main/index.html, dominant species mentioned in relevant ecoregions of http://www.worldwildlife.org/science/ecoregions/nearctic.cfm, and trees known by the author (Steve Baskauf) to commonly occur in northwestern Ohio.
